Job summary

Medical City Alliance in Fort Worth is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Tech on a PRN basis. You will prepare radioactive isotopes, position patients, explain procedures, administer doses, and perform diagnostic scans while ensuring safety and patient comfort.

Experience in nuclear medicine and ARRT(N)/CNMTB/MRT along with BLS is required. The role emphasizes safety, mentoring, and excellent patient service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree
• Technical or vocational training
• Prefer at least 1 year of NM experience
• ARRT(N) or CNMTB, MRT, and BLS obtained from HCA approved vendor required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians orders.
• Positions patients and adjusts immobilization devices.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses concerns.
• Administers and records isotope dosage.
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment.
• Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Assists with transporting patients.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities.
