Job summary

Atlantic Health System Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies, following prescribed procedures and safety practices.

The role includes dose calculations, equipment calibration, and performing imaging under physician supervision, with emphasis on radiation safety and patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine required.
• NJDEP license in nuclear medicine.
• Registration or certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or CAMRT.
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals under physician supervision.
• Mix stock solutions, calculate and administer doses.
• Calibrate equipment used in imaging and therapy.
• Perform diagnostic studies using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation and produce images.
• Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters and detectors.
• Administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction.
• Follow radiation safety techniques and proper disposal of radioactive materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
