Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist for Cape Cod Sandwich and Harwich locations. This 30-hour per week position features three ten-hour shifts: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in Sandwich.

You will operate PET equipment, ensure patient safety, and provide clear explanations. Requires ARRT/NMTCB registration, state license, CPR, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which employed.
• Must be certified in CPR.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Minimum of one year nuclear medicine experience; excellent interpersonal skills; proficient starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods.
• Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Follow NRC, state regulatory agencies and JCAHO rules and regulations.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.

• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.

Required Qualifications

What you need

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
• Must be certified in CPR
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
