Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a part-time or per diem PET technologist to provide a professional, caring atmosphere in a fast-paced clinical setting. Availability includes Saturdays 6am-4:30pm and/or 7am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities include operating PET equipment, ensuring patient safety, maintaining records, and coordinating with radiologists. Requires state license, CPR, ARRT/NMTCB registration, and nuclear medicine experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a state license where employed.
• CPR certification required.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB registration required.
• One year nuclear medicine experience; strong interpersonal skills; IV skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow NRC, state regulatory and JCAHO rules and regulations.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

We are looking for part-time or per diem staff with the following availability:

Saturdays 6am-4:30pm and/or 7am-5:30pm

Job Description

What you will do

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Required Qualifications

What you need

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
• Must be certified in CPR
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
