Responsibilities

• Follow all Shields Health Care policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities and prepare films as needed.
• Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program and forward PET data to Radiologist.
• Refilm cases as time allows and assist clerical staff.
• Position patients accurately and ensure comfort during exams.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients throughout exams.
• Clean and restock equipment and rooms as required.

## Nuclear Med/PET TechnologistApply: Sandwich, MA: Part time: Posted Today: R-101021**Job Summary:**In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment. 30 hour postion: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Cape Cod Sandwich/Harwich Locations**Job Description:****This is a 30 hour/week position (3 ten-hour shifts):****Sunday, Monday & Tuesday at Sandwich & Harwich locations on Cape Cod****What you will do:*** Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.* Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.* Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.* Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.* Performs all hot lab responsibilities.* Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.* Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.* Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.* Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.* Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.* Provide and issue films when appropriate.* Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.* Refilm cases as time allows* Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.* Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.**Required Qualifications****What you need:*** Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work* Must be certified in CPR* Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.* A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.* Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.**Additional Job Description:**Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
