Job summary

Shields Health Care Group seeks a PET Technologist to provide a professional, compassionate atmosphere within a fast-paced clinical setting in Massachusetts. You will operate PET equipment, ensure patient safety, and communicate exam details clearly to patients.

Responsibilities include performing hot lab tasks, maintaining data records, and collaborating with radiologists. Requirements include state licensure, CPR, ARRT/NMTCB registration, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience;

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) employed.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Minimum of one year nuclear medicine experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to assist patients with mobility.

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Follow NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO rules and regulations.
• Inform patients about exam details to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
• Position patients accurately and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients during exams.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient exams.
• Record patient data to the Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET data to Radiologist after exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows.

Job Summary:

• Baystate Wason, Springfield, MA: Sunday 7-530, Monday 11-930
• Berkshire, Pittsfield MA: Tuesday 7-530
• Cooley, Northampton, MA: Thursday 9-730

Job Description:

What you will do:

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Required Qualifications

What you need:

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
• Must be certified in CPR
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description:

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
