Job summary

Shields Health Care seeks a PET technologist for Signature - Brockton Hospital in Brockton, MA to provide professional imaging in a fast-paced clinical setting with emphasis on patient safety.

This 10-hour weekly Saturday position requires state licensure, ARRT/NMTCB registration, and CPR, with duties spanning exam imaging, hot lab tasks, data entry, and collaboration with Radiology for film delivery.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) employed.
• Must be certified in CPR.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Minimum of one-year nuclear medicine experience; excellent interpersonal skills; proficient starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and use a computer; assist mobility; lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist after completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Job Summary

Job Description

This is a 10-hour weekly position at Signature - Brockton Hospital on Saturdays:

6:00a-4:30p OR 7:00a-5:30p

What you will do:

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Required Qualifications

What you need:

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
• Must be certified in CPR
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description:

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
