Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist to join Cape Cod Sandwich/Harwich locations. The role is 30 hours per week across three ten-hour shifts (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) with patient-focused imaging duties.

Responsibilities include operating PET equipment, ensuring patient safety, preparing and processing data, and coordination with radiologists. Requires ARRT/NMTCB registration, state license, CPR, and 1+ year nuclear medicine experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) of employment.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• At least 1 year of nuclear medicine experience; proficiency in starting IVs.
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and assist patients with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radioactive concentrations.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities and ensure patient is clear of contraindications.
• Position patients properly and maintain comfort during exams.
• Record data in the Tech Data Entry program and forward PET data to Radiologist.
• Refill cases as time allows and assist clerical staff as needed.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms.

Job Summary:

Job Description:

This is a 30 hour/week position (3 ten-hour shifts):

Sunday, Monday & Tuesday at Sandwich & Harwich locations on Cape Cod

What you will do:

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

Required Qualifications

What you need:

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work
• Must be certified in CPR
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description:

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
