Job summary

Shields Health Care seeks a PET technologist to join a fast-paced clinical team on Cape Cod. The position is 10 hours per week, with Sunday shifts at either Sandwich or Harwich locations (6a-4:30p or 7a-5:30p).

You will operate PET equipment, ensure patient safety, perform hot lab duties, and coordinate with radiologists. The role requires ARRT/NMTCB registration, CPR, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience, along with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Proficient in starting IVs.

Responsibilities

• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radiotracer concentrations.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities as needed.
• Explain exam procedures to patients and ensure comfort.
• Record patient data in Tech Data Entry system.
• Forward PET data to Radiologist after exams and refilm cases when time allows.
• Assist clerical staff and maintain equipment and room cleanliness.

**Job Summary:**In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.**Job Description:****This is a 10-hour/week position, either at our Sandwich or Harwich locations on Cape Cod:****Sundays 6a-4:30pm OR 7a-5:30pm****What you will do:*** Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.* Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.* Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.* Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.* Performs all hot lab responsibilities.* Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.* Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.* Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.* Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.* Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.* Provide and issue films when appropriate.* Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.* Refilm cases as time allows* Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.* Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.**Required Qualifications****What you need:*** Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work* Must be certified in CPR* Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.* A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.* Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.**Additional Job Description:**Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
