Job summary

Orano Federal Services LLC in Federal Way, WA is seeking a Mechanical/Structural Engineer to support calculations and licensing of nuclear transport packages. You will perform static and dynamic structural analyses using ANSYS and LS-DYNA and perform hand calculations as needed.

Collaborating with design teams across thermal and nuclear disciplines, you will document analyses and contribute to SAR sections for NRC licensing. A solid background in linear/non-linear dynamics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural analysis and design for nuclear packages.
• Proficiency in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA.
• Ability to document calculations for SAR and NRC licensing.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations for design, development, and licensing in structural discipline.
• Interface with designers and other engineering disciplines to ensure structural integrity.
• Conduct FE analyses of structures using ANSYS/LS-DYNA or hand methods.
• Provide design solutions and verification methods.
• Participate in reviews and problem-solving meetings.
• Document calculations and prepare SAR/Technical Reports for NRC submittals.
