Job summary

Orano Federal Services LLC seeks a Mechanical/Structural Engineer for its Federal Way, WA office to support nuclear transport package design, analysis, and licensing.

You will perform static and dynamic structural analyses using ANSYS/LS-DYNA and hand methods, interfacing with multiple disciplines to ensure safety and compliance with standards. Benefits and comprehensive compensation accompany this role.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• 0–3 years in structural engineering or mechanical design/analysis.
• Knowledge of FEA theory and application.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and criteria.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations for design, development, and licensing.
• Interface with designers and other disciplines to ensure structural integrity.
• Conduct finite element analyses using ANSYS/LS-DYNA or hand methods.
• Provide design solutions and verification methods.
• Document calculations for SAR/Technical Reports for NRC licensing.
