Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking Mechanical Engineers to provide design and engineering support for nuclear decommissioning projects. You will work with a team of engineers across Whitehaven and Manchester, delivering design from study to detail, and collaborating with multiple disciplines.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, chartership or progress toward it, and experience with 3D CAD and digital tools like laser scanning/VR/AR. Hybrid working and site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartership with the relevant institution or working towards Chartership.
• Experience in 3D CAD.
• Knowledge and experience using digital tools to deliver engineering solutions (laser scanning, VR/AR/MR).

Responsibilities

• Provide design and engineering support for a range of projects and clients in the nuclear decommissioning market.
• Lead teams of engineers and technicians on project tasks and ensure delivery to time and quality with QA processes.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, hand calculations, and supporting documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (Civil & Structural, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Environment & Waste).
• Support commissioning, installation, and operations as required.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work independently or as part of a team.
