Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a qualified professional to support the NRC’s Nuclear Material Events Database (NMED) project. You will collect, review, and code nuclear material event data and provide analysis to NRC staff, supporting security and privacy reviews and database maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in a technical field, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain NRC IT Level-II access. This multi-level posting offers growth based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Requires BS degree in a technical field and 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a technical field and 0 years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NRC Information Technology Level-II access.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and code nuclear material event data.
  • Provide event review, analysis, and assessment support to NRC’s nuclear material assessment staff.
  • Provide short-term technical assistance and training to the NRC and Agreement States as needed.
  • Perform reviews of material events for the identification of sensitive unclassified information, as well as personal privacy information.
  • Develop new procedures (and/or modify existing procedures) for maintaining NMED.
  • Support the maintenance and upgrade of the NMED Agreement State software (a local standalone system provided to Agreement States).
  • Support the maintenance and upgrade of the NMED database, software, and website.
  • Support the assurance that all computer security requirements are met.
