Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Manufacturing Manager 1 to lead a team on the floor, directing nuclear material operations in PF-4 or PF-5 at TA-55. You will coordinate with MM3 and the Group Leader to ensure safe, compliant execution of manufacturing tasks and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• You will need strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide a team of roughly 10–20 operations personnel.
• Experience planning and executing work on the manufacturing floor in a regulated, nuclear environment.
• Ability to implement formal operational controls and maintain safety and security in all tasks.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-floor leadership for the team (10–20 personnel) in nuclear material operations.
• Oversee manufacturing floor planning, work oversight, and status reporting to MM3 and Group Leader.
• Mentor and coach operations staff to improve Conduct of Operations and procedural discipline.
• Collaborate with ALDWP and PSP divisions to execute PSP missions successfully.
