Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Facilities Engineering Manager 4 to lead the PFE division's engineering efforts for the TA-55 facilities. You will oversee technical deliverables, safety systems, and staffing plans while ensuring COE and CM processes are followed and customer requirements are met.

Responsibilities include directing engineering resources, interfacing with DOE/NNSA, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards in a complex nuclear environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership in managing an engineering organization.
• Experience interfacing with contractor management, NNSA/DOE staff, DNFSB and public.
• Expert knowledge in engineering for nuclear facilities including operations and maintenance.
• Development and implementation of design processes, CM, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of DOE Orders and Standards for nuclear facility design and operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with laws, codes and standards for technical deliverables.
• Provide technical oversight to vital safety systems and facility support systems.
• Assign qualified engineers to projects and ensure COE adherence.
• Lead system health reporting and safety-system assessments.
• Forecast staffing, manage budgets, and supervise personnel actions.
• Provide nuclear design engineering to meet customer needs safely and cost-effectively.
