Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Major Project Director to lead a multi-billion dollar program with responsibility for safety, schedule, cost, and regulatory compliance. You will guide executives and project teams, coordinate with EPCs and JV partners, and ensure delivery within budgets and timelines.

You will oversee integrated schedules, stakeholder relations, and contract strategy, while maintaining focus on risk management and performance metrics across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Progressive leadership experience in large-scale capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Own overall project execution, directing and overseeing management functions.
• Implement and oversee safety program to achieve Zero Harm.
• Lead regulatory filings, budget, schedule, and contracting strategy.
• Manage JV governance, risk, and executive reporting to leadership.
