American Electric Power Co. seeks a Major Project Director to lead all project management functions for a flagship program with budgets exceeding $1 billion and multiple components.

You will own safety, schedule, cost, and stakeholder alignment, directing a team and coordinating with EPC contractors or third-party resources as required. You will report to executives, ensure regulatory compliance with NERC/FERC/RTO, and drive execution across scope, budget, and risk.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree with ten (10) years of qualified experience across two or more areas: major construction projects, project management, portfolio management, commissioning, project controls, and contract negotiations.
• PMP certification is required.
• Valid state driver's license is required.
• Internal candidate consideration: two years of related experience at staff or director level preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Own overall project execution including directing, guiding, and overseeing project management functions.
• Implement and oversee project safety program to achieve Zero Harm.
• Report on project strategy and needs to Executive leadership with solutions for siting, regulatory, procurement, and engineering requirements.
• Establish project contracting strategy and negotiate agreements; drive governance with JV partners as needed.
