Job summary

AEP seeks a Major Project Director to lead all project management for a multi-component, $1B+ program. You will be the single accountable leader for safety, schedule, cost, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with VP-level stakeholders and JV partners.

Responsibilities include directing integrated execution across multiple workstreams, maintaining the schedule and budget, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory filings and stakeholder alignment to deliver the project on time and within budget.

• Own overall project execution across multiple workstreams.
• Implement and oversee safety program to pursue Zero Harm.
• Report project strategy and needs to executive leadership.
• Establish project contracting strategy and negotiate agreements.
• Lead executive governance with JV partners.
• Drive integrated schedule and resource alignment.
• Manage program budget and contingency.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Lead project change management and resolve disputes.
• Build a strong project leadership team.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with utilities, regulators, landowners, and contractors.
• Ensure readiness for regulatory filings and project approvals.
