Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a summer internship at the Monticello Nuclear plant to support a mechanical maintenance team of 30 people. The role focuses on work package readiness, closeout, expense reporting, and coordination of work management and meetings.

The program aims to develop practical skills in a nuclear power setting. Ideal candidates are current students enrolled in a accredited program in Business or electrical power generation, available for full-time summer work and part-time during

Qualifications

• Current student, Freshman or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business or electrical power generation
• Work will occur at the Monticello Nuclear plant.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
• Nuclear screening and FFD/AA approval for unescorted access.

Responsibilities

• Work package readiness
• Work completing closeout
• Maintaining expense reports
• Learn how work management and maintenance at a major generating station is coordinated
• Help coordinate meeting agendas and scheduling
