Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. is offering an internship at the Monticello Nuclear Plant, supporting the maintenance process and providing general business support for a 30-person mechanical maintenance team.

The role involves work package readiness, closeout, expense tracking, coordinating meetings, and learning how maintenance at a major generating station is coordinated. Start date is May 24, 2027, with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Current student, Freshman or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Business or electrical power generation.
• Work will occur at the Monticello Nuclear plant.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commute in-person per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Work package readiness.
• Work completing closeout.
• Maintaining expense reports.
• Learn how work management and maintenance at a major generating station is coordinated.
• Help coordinate meeting agendas and scheduling.
