Job summary

GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy in Wilmington, NC is seeking engineering, science, or business students for a full-time Nuclear Licensing Internship from May through August 2027. You will support licensing activities for the current U.S. BWR fleet and gain exposure to nuclear regulatory requirements and licensing processes, plus hands-on experience with advanced nuclear technology.

Location: Wilmington, NC. Employment Dates: May 2027–August 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Law, or a similar degree.
• 40 hours availability per week.
• Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
• Preferred: Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Preferred: 3.0 GPA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans to implement the next wave of power uprates for the world-wide installed base of boiling water reactor nuclear plants.
• Review, interpret, and implement in procedures and processes, new nuclear regulations and guidance.
• Gain familiarity with GVH’s nuclear licensing methodologies.
