Job summary

GE Vernova - Hitachi in Wilmington, NC offers a Summer 2027 internship for engineering students. You will gain hands-on experience in planning, design, and construction of new nuclear power plants, with mentorship from senior project managers and engineers.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an engineering program and eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. The role is based in Wilmington, NC with relocation/housing support available.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline.
• Majors accepted: Chemical, Electrical, Material, Mechanical, Controls, Civil/Structural, Nuclear, Computer Science Engineering.
• Must be able to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Receive mentorship from project managers and project engineers.
• Support Project Managers in planning and executing contracts for design and construction of new nuclear power plants.
• Work on projects typically spanning 2 to 6 months and require independent decision-making.
• Apply technical expertise and expand skills in new areas within advanced nuclear projects.
• Help prioritize work and deliver small modular reactors on time and on budget.
