Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Licensing Engineering Intern to support licensing, regulatory strategy, and safety-basis development for advanced reactor projects, with emphasis on non-LWRs and DOE/NRC-regulated facilities. Work under experienced engineers to assist with regulatory analysis and documentation for interactions with DOE/NRC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree completed or expected by Dec 2026 in Nuclear Engineering (preferred) or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to learn regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work across interdisciplinary teams and use common engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain licensing basis for advanced reactor systems.
• Support preparation and review of regulatory documents and analyses.
• Conduct regulatory research on NRC and DOE requirements.
• Collaborate with design teams to gather information for licensing and safety documentation.
• Apply risk-informed/licensing approaches and support regulatory submissions.
