Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Nuclear Test Engineer to develop test methods, write procedures, and execute testing for reactor development. You will translate engineering requirements into measurable acceptance criteria and produce traceable evidence of performance and readiness.

The role involves hands-on testing from setup through execution, analysis, and reporting, collaborating with design, instrumentation, manufacturing, and Quality teams to support qualification

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline relevant to nuclear/test engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on engineering or testing experience with nuclear components/systems.
• Experience authoring formal test protocols and technical reports.
• Experience with test-method development and instrumentation integration.
• Understanding of nuclear QA/design-control practices and traceable documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures mapping engineering requirements to acceptance criteria.
• Design, assemble, and commission test fixtures and stands for mechanical, electrical, thermal, and integrated-system testing.
• Plan and execute performance, environmental, and failure-mode testing; support FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
• Specify measurements (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.) and integrate sensors and data acquisition.
• Maintain test records, configurations, and calibration per nuclear quality requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, technicians, and test facilities to ensure reliable test capability.
• Improve reusable test methods for verification, qualification, and production-support testing.
