Job summary

Dominion Energy's North Anna Power Station is seeking a 2027 Mechanical Engineering summer intern to support the Nuclear Engineering Auxiliary Systems Engineering Group on-site. You will assist Maintenance and Operations with troubleshooting, analyses, and design modifications, gaining familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant design.

You will develop technical documentation, perform field inspections, and contribute to safety and efficiency initiatives while using MS Office and adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a student in an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering program at a four-year college or university.
• Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
• Must have an anticipated graduation date of December 2028 or Later

Responsibilities

• Support Operations and Maintenance in troubleshooting and resolving system and component issues.
• Perform analyses and evaluations that support nuclear plant operation (e.g., pump, valve, heat exchanger performance).
• Develop/Support design modification packages to improve system/component performance.
• Support field inspections of components and systems within the power plant.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy's North Anna Power Station is seeking a 2027 Mechanical Engineering summer intern to serve as a member of the Station's Nuclear Engineering Auxiliary Systems Engineering Group. The qualified candidate will work on site and provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations on a broad range of issues both on the component and system level. The intern will also provide repair recommendations, design modifications and Engineering documentation to support planned work activities. The candidate will be expected to gain familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant design. Activities include, but not limited to:

• Supporting Operations and Maintenance in troubleshooting and resolving system and component issues
• Performing analyses and evaluations that support nuclear plant operation (eg pump, valve, heat exchanger performance)
• Developing/Supporting design modification packages to improve system/component performance
• Supporting field inspections of components and systems within the power plant.

Good general computer skills including proficiency with using Microsoft Office products is desired.

Must have a personal commitment to all aspects of workplace safety.

Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.

Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
