Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the Phoenix area is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern for a project team, assisting the engineering team on designs and upgrades to power plant systems with a focus on control theory.

Under supervision from senior engineers, you will apply your knowledge of sensors, digital controllers, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors to improve nuclear plant functionality and performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with coursework in control systems, mechatronics, or robotics
• ABET accreditation in program is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering calculations, specifications and designs
• Track project activities and progress for reports
