Job summary

Valar Atomics in Torrance, CA is seeking an Instrumentation & controls Technician to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems in a highly regulated nuclear energy environment.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on 120V–480V AC systems, read schematics, work with PLCs, and support system commissioning while ensuring safety and compliance with NEC, ISA, NFPA 70 standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Maintenance.
• 3+ years of industrial electrical or instrumentation experience.
• Familiarity with NEC, ISA standards, NFPA 70.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot 120V–480V AC electrical systems.
• Read wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and schematics; work with PLCs - wiring I/O and diagnostics.
• Perform loop checks and assist with system commissioning.
