Job summary
Valar Atomics in Utah is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Technician to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems in a highly regulated nuclear energy environment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on 120V-480V AC systems, read schematics, wire I/O for PLCs, and support system commissioning.
The role requires an associate degree or technical certification, 3+ years of industrial electrical or instrumentation
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Maintenance.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical or instrumentation experience.
- Familiarity with NEC, ISA standards, NFPA 70.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Read schematics and interpret P&IDs.
- Configure PLCs and SCADA interfaces.
- Perform lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance.
- Calibrate transmitters and control valves.
- Assist with system commissioning.
