Job summary

Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. in Connecticut seeks a civil/structural engineer to support power plant upgrade and new build projects.

You will work under senior engineers, perform calculations, and assist in evaluating conditions to develop design changes that improve safety and reliability. The role requires a minimum 3.0 GPA in civil engineering, knowledge of ACI, AISC and ASCE 7, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0 in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of industry codes ACI, AISC and ASCE 7; can be shown via academics or work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; presentation skills; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to pass security and drug screening; unescorted nuclear plant access; travel to client sites; field/office work; climb ladders and access restricted areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design activities for power plant upgrades or new projects under senior staff guidance.
• Assist with calculations, modifications and designs using standard engineering methods.
• Evaluate conditions and develop design changes to improve plant performance, safety and reliability.
