Job summary

Zachry Nuclear Engineering is seeking an Engineer IV, Civil/Structural to independently perform analyses, calculations, evaluations, and design activities for commercial nuclear power facilities. A strong foundation in structural engineering, nuclear design requirements, and industry codes is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, including nuclear industry exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil and structural engineering analyses and design activities for nuclear power plant modifications, upgrades, and modernization projects.
  • Develop engineering calculations, design change packages, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Apply structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, seismic analysis, and finite element analysis.
  • Evaluate existing plant conditions and propose modifications to improve safety and reliability.
  • Lead and review engineering work products, ensuring QA and standards compliance.
  • Support project execution with multidisciplinary coordination and client interactions.
