Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Mid-Level Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group in Naperville, IL. You will collaborate on multi-disciplinary teams to upgrade and modify nuclear plant I&C systems, including PLCs, DCS, HMI, sensors, and related control equipment.

The role emphasizes mentoring, project support, and ongoing professional development, with travel about 10%. A strong background in electrical, mechanical, or nuclear engineering and 3+ years of I&C design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• 3+ years in design engineering of instrumentation and control systems, preferably in nuclear power.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for BWR or PWR units.
• Experience preparing and reviewing design drawings, instrument data sheets, and software/cyber security documents.
• Experience developing system requirements and procurement specifications; design descriptions and test plans.
• US citizenship and willingness to travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop precise drawings, calculations, and analyses meeting codes and client expectations.
• Create engineering documents that meet client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously update knowledge of industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
• Deliver engineering solutions aligned with quality assurance programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated designs.
• Provide field support and on-site engagement with client personnel.
