Job summary

ENERCON seeks a Senior or Principal Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group. You will lead multi-discipline teams on upgrades and modifications for nuclear plants, mentoring others and guiding design packages. We offer a clear progression path and training opportunities.

We are hiring full-time roles across the United States, with travel typically around 10%. US citizenship is required and remote options may apply in some locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years design experience in instrumentation and control systems; 10+ years for Principal level.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for BWR or PWR units.
• Experience developing system requirements, procurement specifications, design descriptions, test plans, and traceability.
• US Citizenship required; approx travel 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables including drawings, calculations, and analyses.
• Set engineering documents to exceed client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes and safety culture in the nuclear sector.
• Deliver high-quality engineering solutions aligned with QA programs.
• Build strong client relationships through clear communication and results.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
• Provide on-site field support and site walkdowns as needed.
