Job summary

X-energy LLC is hiring a HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer to support the Plant & Process Design team. The role involves designing mechanical systems, conducting analyses, and developing documentation to ensure full functionality from concept to operation.

The position requires ABET-accredited mechanical engineering education and substantial experience, with on-site expectations and a path toward rigorous system engineering processes in a nuclear context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 5 years of mechanical engineering work experience for Level III, 10 for Level IV, 15 for Level V.
• Master’s degree may be in lieu of two years of experience.
• Ph.D. may be in lieu of three years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical process equipment design, procurement, installation, or operation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for HVAC and related equipment.
• Perform thermal/hydraulic analyses to meet technical requirements.
• Create and maintain CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Lead external engineering partners and manage procurement activities.
• Provide design reviews and document technical work according to procedures.
• Identify and manage system risks and ensure quality in all processes.
