Job summary

X Energy, LLC in Oak Ridge, TN, seeks a technical liaison to partner with Business Development, translating customer needs into internal asks and delivering timely engineering responses.

You will coordinate across R&D, Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, Licensing, Quality Assurance, Transportation and Legal, supporting pre- and post-contract activities.

This full-time in-office role requires a degreed engineer, 3–5 years of experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel 10–25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day technical point of contact for assigned customers and BD pursuits, coordinating inputs across R&D, Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, Licensing, Quality Assurance, Transportation, and Legal.
• Support pre-contract activities: RFI/RFP responses, technical questionnaires, capability briefings, and clarification of fuel / facility / interface requirements.
• Support post-contract activities: technical issue tracking, change communication, delivery/milestones questions, and customer onboarding handoffs to delivery teams.
• Translate customer questions into scoped internal requests; synthesize cross-functional answers into clear, customer-ready responses (with appropriate review).
• Maintain a living issues/actions log for each account or opportunity; elevate risks, schedule conflicts, and open technical gaps to BD and functional leads.
• Prepare and support customer meetings (agendas, technical slides, action capture, follow‑ups).
• Build working knowledge of TRISO fuel, plant interfaces, licensing/regulatory basics, and transportation/packaging considerations sufficient to ask the right questions and route work correctly.
• Protect proprietary and sensitive information; follow company procedures for document control, export control, and external communications.
• Travel occasionally for customer visits, industry meetings/conferences, or site support as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of playbooks, FAQs, and standard response packages used by BD and Sales Engineering.
• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
