X-energy is seeking a Senior Advisor (Fuel Engineering) in Oak Ridge, TN to provide enterprise-level leadership, technical authority, and executive guidance to the VP of Fuel Engineering. The role shapes long-range strategy for TRISO-X fuel design and manufacturing, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related STEM field, advanced degree preferred.
Twenty or more years of engineering experience.
Ten or more years in the nuclear industry and in engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level strategic insight and guidance to engineering leadership on TRISO-X fuel facilities.
Set direction for development, fabrication, procurement, and installation of nuclear fuel equipment.
Oversee uranium recovery and waste processing equipment to meet regulatory and safety requirements.
Coordinate across procurement, licensing, construction, project management, and R&D.
Advise VP on program performance: schedule, cost, risk, and mitigation.
Lead budgeting, workforce planning, and performance leadership at division level.
Provide leadership across nuclear, mechanical, I&C, and electrical disciplines.
Engage customers, partners, and industry to support TRISO-X objectives.
Develop and deliver technical descriptions for customer proposals and bids.
