Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) seeks experienced electrical design engineers for CNS Mission Engineering support at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. US citizenship and the ability to obtain DOE Q clearance are required. ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires an ABET accredited BS Degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Ability to obtain Q clearance; DOE Q clearance preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screen and medical exams may be required.
• Work may require obtaining and maintaining DOE clearance; WSAP designation may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide CNS Mission Engineering with full-time electrical design engineering support in Y-12 Facility Design.
• Develop design output per CNS and NFPA 70/ NEC and related standards.
• Interface with production and support organizations; communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Review and close Change Requests (CRs) RTS >90 days; ensure proper closure.
• Identify affected documents and revise to reflect CR work.
• Perform walkdowns to verify CR work completion.
• Prepare redline markups and coordinate with drafting for CM documents.
• Verify that final documents reflect CR information correctly.
