Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking engineering and technical support personnel for the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. You'll work as AIS staff with day-to-day direction from Y-12 staff to advance national security missions.

Qualified applicants must be US citizens, 18+, able to meet drug screens, medical exams, and DOE clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science from an ABET-accredited program in the United States with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
• Pre-employment drug screen required for external applicants.
• Medical exam(s) may be required for placement.
• This position may require a DOE clearance with WSAP testing if designated.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates configuration management activities and assesses system health and performance.
• Works with the Configuration Management program for assigned systems.
• Prepares configuration control/design change packages for tasks.
• Evaluates impact of changes to safety bases for facilities.
• Performs troubleshooting and improvement activities.
• Applies system and equipment expertise with related disciplines.
• System walkdowns, calibration, spare parts evaluations, and turnover to owner support.
