Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo-based startup, seeks a highly motivated Nuclear Engineer intern to assist with shielding, neutronics, and thermal analyses for Kaleidos reactor development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document methods and results, and contribute to rapid shielding design and uncertainty propagation efforts.

Ideal candidates are graduating in Dec 2026 or Spring 2027 with a strong nuclear engineering foundation and programming skills in Python or C++.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in nuclear engineering principles (reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, shielding).
• Programming experience in Python/C++ or similar.
• Willingness to work on design/analysis tasks during internship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nuclear design and analysis tasks including shielding and neutronics.
• Support coupled neutronics and thermal calculations to refine models.
• Document methods and results in technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical input.
• Develop rapid shielding design solutions and uncertainty propagation methodologies.
