Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA is seeking a highly motivated Thermal Engineer Intern to join the team for Summer 2027. You will perform thermal analysis and CFD on Kaleidos systems, document results, and help expand CFD capabilities in a fast-paced startup environment.

This onsite internship offers hands-on experience with a pioneering nuclear microreactor program and opportunities to develop methods supporting lower-fidelity analyses.

Qualifications

• This internship is open to BS/MS students in engineering fields.
• Ability to work independently on challenging tasks is preferred.
• Strong communication to document and convey results clearly.
• Interest in nuclear energy and rapid deployment missions.
• Prior internship experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute thermal analysis and CFD to evaluate Kaleidos designs.
• Document analysis results to communicate actionable outputs.
• Expand CFD capabilities and workflow efficiencies via projects.
• Own pipeline for producing analysis geometry from CAD.
• Develop methods to support lower-fidelity thermal analysis.
