Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a motivated, experienced engineer to perform plant analysis in support of the next nuclear-powered submarine design. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge nuclear technology while supporting the US Navy and shaping the next naval reactor plant design.

Key work items include analysis for design and procedure development, protective-feature development for margin improvements, and reactor plant model development for early design studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or
• Master's with 4+ years; or
• Doctorate with 1+ year; or
• Senior Reactor Training/Refueling/Field Engineer at the Company.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis to support component/system design and early procedure development.
• Develop protective features to improve operability, cost, and thermal margins for the next reactor design.
• Develop a reactor plant model to support early design studies.
