Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry level nuclear engineer to join a multidisciplinary reactor performance analysis team supporting the FORD Class Aircraft Carrier Fleet. You will perform reactor protection and plant analysis, learn high performance computing analyses, and interact with mechanical, electrical, and I&C stakeholders to assess reactor performance.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute to safety and reliability of naval reactors while developing skills in reactor

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering or science field; or
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering or science field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reactor protection and plant analysis for FORD Class fleet
  • Learn reactor protection and plant analysis codes and run analyses on HPC systems
  • Interface with power plant stakeholders (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control) to support reactor performance
