Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry-level nuclear engineer to perform thermal and hydraulic analyses supporting the FORD Class reactor fleet. You will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for routine and emergent analysis, reactor system performance, and potential improvements.

Opportunities include learning HPC-based analysis codes, executing simulations, and contributing to safe, reliable Navy reactor operations. U.S. citizenship is required, with background checks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or science field.
  • Strong initiative and communication skills.
  • Experience with Excel and Python is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thermal and hydraulic analyses for reactor performance.
  • Support reactor core manufacturing and analysis for FORD Class fleet.
  • Prepare analyses using high performance computing systems.
  • Learn analysis codes and determine reactor plant performance and operations.
