Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Nuclear Engineer II/I to support the Westinghouse Nuclear Design team for reload core designs across multiple reactors in the Carolinas. Hybrid work arrangement with some travel to Duke sites and industry venues is available.

The position requires ABET-accredited engineering degrees with 0–4 years (I) or 2–4 years (II) of engineering experience, plus nuclear experience for II. The role emphasizes neutronics, core monitoring, and license evaluations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required; MS considered in lieu of BS.
• Nuclear engineering degree and/or PE license desired.
• Experience with neutronics codes and core design analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform neutronic analyses of fuel assemblies and cycles.
• Conduct safety calculations and generate operational predictions.
• Lead reload design projects and produce technical reports.
