Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Electrical/Engineering professional to join the Catawba Nuclear Station Operations Support Engineering – Electrical team. The role focuses on maintaining critical electrical and digital systems to assure reliability, safety, and compliance in a nuclear environment.

Ideal candidates have ABET-accredited engineering degrees, 4+ years of experience, and nuclear knowledge. The position offers a hybrid work model with onsite plant duties and remote work a few days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering.
• A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science engineering degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health and performance of plant electrical systems through preventive maintenance program support.
• Conduct inspections and/or walkdowns in the plant.
• Identify, trend and resolve equipment issues.
• Provide technical oversight and engineering support to the Maintenance and Operations departments.
• Maintain long-term system reliability.
• Support operability, equipment ageing and equipment replacement decisions.
