Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer I or II to support design, analysis, and plant modifications at Catawba Nuclear Station. The role involves structural evaluation, pipe stress analysis, and participation in modification packages within an operating nuclear facility.

Ideal candidates have ABET accreditation, strong communication skills, and 0–4 years (Engineer I) or 2–4 years (Engineer II) of engineering experience, with potential nuclear exposure.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• FE exam completed or pursuing Engineer Intern certification.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• 0–4 years of engineering experience depending on level.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance for routine civil/structural problems.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specs and sketches.
• Support plant modification packages and field verifications.
• Assist planning, scheduling, and monitoring of activities.
• Develop cross-disciplinary relationships and maintain records.
