Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer I or II (Mechanical or Civil) with utility or heavy industrial experience. The role covers design changes, stress/structural analyses, and field support. You will work on heats exchangers, pumps, valves, and rotating equipment, with responsibilities spanning scope development to regulatory documentation.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Engineering (ABET) with possible Master’s substitution; nuclear experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering from ABET accredited program (M.S. may substitute).
• Minimum 1 year nuclear engineering experience preferred.
• Nuclear-specific qualifications and regulatory guidance compliance.
• 3-4 years related work in utility/EPC settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical/civil technical design and project coordination.
• Research issues, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations.
• Develop or revise design/procurement specifications for engineering changes.
• Prepare scope, basis, installation and testing requirements for changes.
