Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to help design and modernize critical electrical systems for nuclear plants, SMR projects, and life-extension initiatives. You will work under engineers and SMEs, gaining hands‑on experience in power systems, protection studies, and equipment integration.

Gain exposure to industry standards, participate in real-world design tasks, and develop professional licensure pathways with mentorship and structured training

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with strong academic background.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations and design tasks for large nuclear power generating stations, including protection studies, cable sizing, and system design.
• Utilize ETAP to perform power systems analysis and modeling for complex networks.
• Assist with selection and integration of major electrical power equipment such as switchgear and MCCs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with client stakeholders.
