Job summary

SIMCO, LLC in Carlsbad, NM, seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the WIPP project. The role focuses on engineering calculations, system analysis, and rigorous documentation to support design decisions.

You will collaborate with QA, procurement, project management, and operations; provide field leadership to resolve equipment issues; and maintain drawings, specifications, and health indicators while adhering to DOE security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Authorized to work in the United States without SIMCO sponsorship.
• Must obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site.
• Non-U.S. citizens from certain countries may face additional security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and analysis within the engineering discipline and provide rigorous written documentation for design decisions.
• Interface with QA, Procurement, Project Management, and Operations to support projects.
• Provide technical field leadership to solve equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain system configuration documentation including drawings, design specifications, trending analysis, and health indicators.
• Perform electrical modification/evaluation of existing systems and routine inspections for code adherence.
• Follow engineering design change processes and configuration design control.
