Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing nuclear market. The role supports projects across North America, collaborating with fabrication and construction teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that meet client expectations.

This mid-level engineer will contribute to a culture focused on safety, excellence, and continuous improvement. The position is based in Lenexa, KS or Oak Ridge, TN, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects.
• PE license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies (AC/DC, short circuit, arc-flash, voltage drop, motor starting, relay coordination).
• Develop and review equipment specifications.
• Participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking.
• Design development: scoping documents, constructability reviews, lighting, communications, and security systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and engage with clients and implementation personnel.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and coordination.
