Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking experienced Electrical Design Engineers to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN (also Lenexa, KS). The role focuses on nuclear plant design, ETAP studies, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

A ABET-accredited EE degree and 5+ years of experience, plus PE license or eligibility, are required. Travel to client sites is expected; we offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive base compensation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
5+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects.

Responsibilities

Power system studies: perform AC/DC calculations, short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination.
Procurement & vendor support: develop and review equipment specs, participate in bid evaluations, manage vendor Q&A.
Design development: prepare scoping documents, reviews for constructability, lighting, communications, and security systems.
Collaboration & client interface: coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and implementation personnel.
Travel: visit client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and coordination.
